Mission for the Brotherhood of Jesus
A project by Jack Martin
Ours is a small, itinerant ministry with the goal of spreading the Gospel because Jesus commanded it. Let us read from Mark 16:15. Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” So, we follow this command of Jesus. We use it to guide us in our daily lives. Thus, our ministry seeks to travel abroad, finding those less fortunate than ourselves and sharing the Gospel of Jesus with them.
In addition, our mission is one of kindness and compassion. Jesus told us to take care of those less fortunate than ourselves. Let us read from Matthew 9:35. “Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.” Jesus also enabled his followers to help the sick and the poor. Let us read from Matthew 10:1. “Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out impure spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.” Here, at the Brotherhood of Jesus Ministry, we follow the teachings of Jesus. We know that our place by the Lord’s side can be secured by good deeds alone. We must take Jesus into ourselves. Let us read from John 3:16. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” Jesus is the way to Heaven. Only through him may we get to the Holy Father’s side. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” (John 14: Verses 5-7) Yet, this is not enough. We must live as Jesus lived. Let us read from John 2:6 “Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did.” Jesus told us the path to Salvation is through him and his deeds. Let us read from Matthew 7:21. Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” And Jesus said, “God will repay each person according to what they have done. To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life” (Romans 2, Verses 6-7)
And so, we know that we must accept Jesus as our Savior and we must live according to his life. It is only through accepting him into our heart that we acknowledge him as our savior. In order to do that, we must live our lives as he lived his. Through our good deeds, we show that we have embraced the teachings of Jesus Christ. By emulating Jesus do we secure our place by the Holy Father’s side. And, so it is that our Ministry seeks to spread the Gospel throughout the world. We seek to enlighten our brothers and sisters. We seek to deliver the Gospel to those who have not heard it. Our goal is to spread the Word and to do good deeds as Jesus has done. Our goal is to help those less fortunate than ourselves. So, we seek to enlarge our global ministry. We are an evangelical ministry in nature. “He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.’” (Mark 16:15)
We are looking to gather enough money for our expenses this summer. We have travel expenses, printing expenses, and so forth. We seek to acquire enough money this year to send two or more missionaries to Southeast Asia. In particular, we are seeking to help our atheist brothers and sisters in Vietnam. We seek to share the gospel with them. We seek to enlighten them and bring them into the Light. We are also seeking enough money to do the works of Jesus Christ. We seek to feed the poor. We seek to offer comfort and aid to the sick. We seek to give to those less fortunate than ourselves so that they may understand the glory that is Jesus Christ. So, please, help us to help those less fortunate. Help us to help those who have never heard the teachings of Jesus Christ, so they may be blessed as we are. Help us to help them find their place by the Holy Father’s side. Let us read from Matthew 19:21 ““Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come follow me.” Let us read from Psalm 41:1. “Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.” And, finally, we close with Galatians 5:14, “For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, "you shall love your neighbor as yourself."
