Chronicles of the Nephilim on AudioBook
A project by Brian
“I’ve read the entire Harry
Potter series three times, a bunch of Star Wars novels, Lord of the Rings and Narnia.
I read a ton. And I LOVE Chronicles of the Nephilim!”
– Sam Jenkins, 12
years old, son of filmmaker Dallas Jenkins
Hi! I’m Brian Godawa, and I was blessed to be the Hollywood screenwriter of the award-winning feature film, To End All Wars, with Kiefer Sutherland, and the movie adaptation of Frank Peretti’s best-selling supernatural novel, The Visitation. I love writing so I published a book called, Hollywood Worldviews, which has become a game-changer in helping Christians to understand the way worldviews are communicated through the storytelling of movies and television. It’s amazing that it’s now a popular textbook in film departments of Christian colleges around the country. I'm humbled for how well my work has been received.
I’m am very excited because I’m now writing a novel series of Biblical fantasy called Chronicles of the Nephilim.
Chronicles of the Nephilim is an epic saga of novels about Biblical heroes before and after the Genesis Flood and their fight in the battle against evil.
It starts with Noah Primeval, about the most beloved ancient hero of all religions, you know, that guy who built the big boat with all the animals. Only, this ain’t your Sunday School Noah’s Ark. Noah is a kick butt warrior who fights the pagan gods and their wicked minions.
The second book is Enoch Primordial, A prequel about what led up to the Flood: Wars of giants, Corruption of mankind, and a small band of God’s heroes, led by that most mysterious of men, Enoch, who was translated into heaven. He was a holy man, a wise sage, and even – a giant killer.
Gilgamesh Immortal is about the most famous Mesopotamian hero right after the Flood who sought Noah and eternal life during a time that the Bible is silent. But trust me, he’s more connected than your realize.
Abraham Allegiant deals with the Tower of Babel, Nimrod the Mighty Hunter King, and the life story of Abraham, the founder of Biblical faith. But this is the forefather and patriarch you only THOUGHT you know. He had a very spiritual, very hot wife, and yes, he fought giants.
And there’s more to come in Joshua Triumphant, the mighty warrior of the Promised Land, and David Ascendant, the anointed King of Israel.
Giants in the Bible? Wassup Widdat?
The Genesis of this saga began with what I consider the strangest passages in the Bible, Genesis 6:1-4. There it says that sons of God from heaven came to earth and mated with daughters of men and they bore Nephilim, or giants, who were mighty warriors of old.
I used the think, “what the heck is that all about?” Giants in the Bible? Angelic/human hybrids?
But when I began a thorough study of ancient historical and biblical research, I discovered there is so much more in the Bible than a shallow reading of the text.
What I discovered blew my mind.
It is a messianic tale of a Cosmic War through all of Biblical history. A war between the Seed of the Serpent and the Seed of Eve (Genesis 3:15). That is, the minions of evil against the people of God who would ultimately produce a Messiah King from within the bloodline of Israel.
And this isn’t some secret gnostic knowledge I’m talking about. It’s hidden in plain sight right in the Bible. You see, we tend to miss the cosmic story line because we are reading it through the prejudice of our western eyes rather than the eyes of the original authors and readers of the Ancient Near East.
Like Elisha’s servant, my eyes were opened. And I knew I had to tell this fantastic story. So I began to write the novels.
Giants, Gods, Monsters and Men
I chose to write them in the genre of fantasy, much like The Lord of the Rings or The Chronicles of Narnia. My goal is to be as true to the original Bible story as possible, but filling in a bunch of the gaps with Biblical fiction based on ancient Jewish and Christian traditions. Also, I've taken a lot of Biblical and ancient near Eastern imagery like Leviathan the sea dragon, pagan gods, and the underworld of Sheol, and made them come alive as literal characters and places in the story. You might say it’s my way of communicating theological truth through Biblical fiction.
And I added something special. At the end of each novel, I included appendixes that explain some of the ancient Biblical and historical research behind the fiction. I didn't just make this stuff up. And so far, many readers have loved the added educational benefit.
Readers have responded with a hunger to match my passion for this ancient epic storyline. All four of the first novels have been in the Top Ten or Twenty of Biblical Fiction on Amazon for most of their release.
So I decided to make them available as audiobooks for all those people who don’t have time to read books.
I recorded the first audiobook of Noah Primeval in barter exchange with a recording studio, Snowblossom Studio. So that’s available right now for download on Amazon and Audible.com. NOAH PRIMEVAL IS ALREADY DONE. I need to fund the next three audiobooks, Enoch Primordial, Gilgamesh Immortal, and Abraham Allegiant.
But there’s one problem. It costs money to produce professional quality audiobooks for the rest of the saga. Money I don’t have.
That’s where you come in.
In order to get the funds to finish the rest of the saga on audio, I need to raise the money that covers the recording studio fees, plus FaithLauncher rewards and fees.
If you participate in any of the FaithLauncher options for raising this money, you will help advance this Biblical storyline to countless other listeners, AND get your own copies of the Chronicles in ebook, audiobook, paperback and/or special limited hardback editions, depending on your level of giving.
An Audio Sample So You Know What You’re Getting
In the interest of keeping you as informed as possible, I will be narrating my own books. There is no one who knows the material better, or how to say some of the bizarre ancient names.
Here is a sample of my reading of Noah Primeval so you can decide if you like my voice enough to listen to it for 7-8 hours of each novel. I hope you don’t find me too annoying. If so please accept my humblest apologies, and I’ll stop talking. :-) :-)
One Important Note
Please be aware that the appendices that I mentioned above are only in the written books, NOT in the audiobooks. The audiobooks only contain the novel. If you want the appendices, you will have to get any of the written book options available.
The Chronicles is a series with interwoven and compounded story lines, so you will get the most out of them if you read them in their proper order.
The Stretch Goal!
If I reach $7500 in pledges (just $1K over the goal), I will add "Audio Appendices" on Leviathan, Behemoth, the Book of Enoch, and other Biblical Mythopoeia.
