Our Mission:

The Hope Movement is a 501 (c) (3) Christian non-profit. Our mission is to shake the comfort zone of God’s people to renew our minds, uniting us as one to impact lives through evangelistic, holistic and transformative methods to bring nations closer to Jesus Christ, breaking the cycle of spiritual and physical poverty and loosening the chains of bondage.

The Hope Movement is not an organization, or a one man show. It is a movement of destined individuals united as one, dedicating our lives to the rescue and care of children and adults living in desperate need. A new day has arrived and the Hope Movement is the formation of a generation of transformation.

The Problem:

There are 1.02 billion undernourished people in the world today. That means one in nearly six people do not get enough food to be healthy and lead an active life. Hunger and malnutrition are in fact the number one risk to the health worldwide — greater than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined.

The Solution:

Haven of Hope: Escuintla, Guatemala

Haven of Hope - Escuintla, Guatemala

Located in Colonia of Madrid and San Felipe, Escuintla, Guatemala our Haven of Hope Center is providing daily nutritious meals which is essential for survival and development to the most vulnerable of children in the community, children who most days live on less than a piece of bread a day, and spend their time in the streets begging and searching for food for their families. In attending our Haven of Hope Center the Hope Movement does not just provide physical nourishment, but through education and counseling we provide spiritual and emotional nourishment to guide youth and adults, heal their inner wounds, and inspire them to pursue their life’s purpose, understanding that poverty is not their destiny, it is only an obstacle to overcome to make their dreams into a reality.

Church-Based Projects:

The Hope Movement understands the importance of the church's responsibility to step outside of the four walls to serve the community. Often non-profit's invest funds in buildings and salaries when there are many churches who already have a building, volunteers from their congregation and an established relationship in the community but they lack the financial resources and training to launch programs which incorporate spiritual and social outreach.

The Hope Movement partners with churches with a heart to serve and step outside of the comfort zone and develop a relationship with the church. We evaluate the communities needs and the church's available resources. We then shake the comfort zone of the church to inspire the congregation to assist their Pastor in fulfilling the purpose of the church, provide financial resources for food costs and provide on-going training and monitoring of the program. This allows the church to fulfill the vision of God and allows the Hope Movement to expand our reach, feeding and education more with less.

Refugio de Esperanza: San Juan Sacatepequez, Guatemala

Witness hope rising in this mountainous indigenous community. Witness children in traditional Indian attire who work instead of going to school because they have to find food for their families, but now have a place to receive a meal, education, counseling and love. Witness a community plagued with indigenous pagan religious beliefs but now they have a church to visit and learn about the love of Jesus Christ. In July 2014 we opened a feeding/ educational center in the church. Over 50 children who do not attend church are coming to the center to receive a hot meal, education, counseling and love. This outreach center is opening the doors to reach the families for Jesus Christ, breaking the bondage of pagan religious traditions, abuse and hopelessness.

Seeds of Love Outreach Center: Zona 12, Guatemala City

In December 2013 The Hope Movement developed a partnership with Pastor David Martinez, a passionate Pastor with a heart to serve the poor in a community in Guatemala City called Zona 12. He expressed interest in opening a feeding program in his church as they have many children in the community that only survive on one meal a day. 98% of the children are not from his church which opens the doors to share the love of Jesus to them and their families.

Seeds of Love Outreach Center: Nuevo Amanecer, Guatemala City

In June 2014 The Hope Movement mission team visited Nuevo Amanecer located in Guatemala City, a large slum consumed with violence caused by heartless gangs. We met with over 50 children and their Mothers and they explained that all 50 children lost their Fathers to violence. One Father was selling ice cream a week before to support his family and was murdered for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Jonathan Roiz, founder of The Hope Movement said to the children from this day forth you now have a Father for we are making a commitment to you to bring transformation to your families and community. Working with Pastor David Martinez, we opened a feeding/ education program a month later in July 2014 and will soon be planting a church for this community which will also be the new location for our outreach programs. The church/ outreach center will allow us to not only feed the hungry but feed their soul bringing them closer to Jesus Christ where they can find true lasting hope and peace.

How will you use the funds raised?

Financial Stewardship

We consider it a great joy to partner with you in this work that is so close to the heart of God — a work that we know could not be done without your generosity.
We also know that we have a great responsibility to be good stewards over the funds that are entrusted to us for the benefit of the children and families we serve. Good stewardship, one of our core values, compels us to strive to achieve the highest industry standards of integrity and accountability.
We work diligently to limit our overhead costs, while maximizing quality child and family focused program activities. As a result, less than 6 percent of funds are used for administration and fundraising.

Dear Lord, Help me spread your fragrance where I go. Flood my soul with your spirit and life. Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly that all my life may be a radiance of yours. Shine through me, and be in me, so that every soul I come in contact with may feel your presence in my soul. Let them look up and see no longer me, but only you.

Stay with me, and then I shall begin as you do; to shine so as to be a light to others. The light will be all from you; none of it will be mine; it will be you shining on others through me. Let us praise you in the way you love best, by shining on those around me. Let me preach you without preaching, not by words, but by my example, by the catching force, the sympathetic influence of what I do, the evident fullness of the love my heart bears to you.
